Learn theory and Operation of Advanced IP Services VoIP and IPTV
This one week (40 hour) course is designed to provide a working understanding of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Internet TV (IPTV), and where they fit in today’s world of Convergence Technologies. This course provides an understanding of how the Telecommunications Industry will employ NGN (Next Generation Networks) to provide a multitude of new products over enhanced Broadband services. Topics discussed will include VoIP, IPTV, Network Architecture, Video broadcasting technology, IMS (Integrated Multimedia Subsystems), Video Compression, MPEG (Motion Picture Expert Group), 3GPP, TCP/IP, and other technologies. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will gain useful knowledge of these technologies and the concepts, methods, and materials required to successfully implement a VoIP/IPTV application.
This course meets the learning objectives and requirements as outlined by the Electronics Technician Association (ETA) Broadband VoIP Certification, and prepares the student for the ETA Broadband VoIP Technician Certification exam. This certification requires a test in each area consisting of a written and a hands-on component.

Our instructors have over 55 combined years of teaching and course development experience in various fields; specializing in Alternative Energy and Telecommunications.
