HVAC – Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning EPA Section #608 Certification Exam optional

HVAC Technician

Ameri-Sills, fast-track method of training, delivers the most engaging experience since we train you in a matter of weeks vs. one year or more through traditional industry pathways. All classes are offered simultaneously so you can enroll at any time. The training center is conveniently located near Ontario International Airport (California).

Daily transportation is provided to and from the training center. A continental breakfast and lunch are provided. Transportation to Ontario California, hotel and dinners are not included.

  • Each course is a blended course of online academics and in person hands-on training and competency demonstration. Academics are completed prior to arrival at the training center. Hands-on skill building time is maximized!
  • Online academics must be completed before attending the in-person 100% hands-on training. Ask about specific requirements before checking in on the first day of training.
  • Our program is based on performance, rather than theory, allowing technicians to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills instantly! Not employed? Ask about guaranteed interviews with our principal contractors. * NO guaranty of employability is inferred or in any implied
  • Employers: By taking advantage of this training, it opens up your opportunity to hire technicians with little or no experience to expand your workforce!

There are many benefits to this approach

  • Lowest cost of learning as the learning is compressed
  • Each learner must demonstrate each competency
  • Complete the training program with the appropriate certification level(s)
  • All academics are HVAC Excellence-accredited. Most instructors are certified Master HVACR Educators.
  • Individually work on operational equipment. Not mock-ups of equipment.
  • It is essential to work on and do-the-tasks that contractors demand.
  • All tools are supplied during training

There are three levels of training. Note that the task lists here are representative only. The actual learning and task list are much greater in length and depth.

Installation Program 7-day class length

  • Learn to remove existing equipment (refrigerant recovery, gas, electrical and ducting)
  • Learn to prepare and install new equipment (braze, evacuate, refrigerant recharging and reconnect utilities)
  • Learn to disconnect and connect ducting systems
  • EPA Exam included and proctored onsite (if needed)

Maintenance Technician

  • Learn practical skills relating to the inspection of rooftop and split-system HVAC equipment
  • Prepare a task list (ACCA Standard 180)
  • Carry out, in conjunction with advanced technicians all maintenance and repair tasks
  • EPA Exam included and proctored onsite (if needed)

Service Apprentice

Note: Either the Installation Technician or the Maintenance Technician is a prerequisite to this program. Alternately leaners with 1-year field service experience are automatically qualified to attend this training.

  • Using supplied tools, identify system fault on both the split system and RTU system. Electrical, refrigerant, natural gas, and air distribution are included fault finding tasks.
  • Change out components – not limited to digital control boards, relays, motors, inverters
  • Demonstrate high-level brazing scenarios
  • Measure and calculate delivered performance metrics
  • Learn alternant (green) system diagnostic techniques
  • Service apprentice technicians graduate with EPA Certification, NATE CORE and Specialty Certifications.
